My concept for this piece is influenced by M.C. Escher’s famous stairway print, “Relativity.” With the inspiration of optical illusions and psychedelic patterns, I wanted to create an abstract board game with no rules, nor any token and it meant to be as an illusive piece of work. The stairs branches beyond the game board’s boundaries, indicating that the stairs themselves go beyond the gameboard boundaries. Despite the multiple pathways these towers over, the stairs never actually connect with each other.

This game board was designed in Illustrator and created by the University of Massachusett’s laser cutter as a student project.
